Leonardo Guidoni

Leonardo Guidoni is Full Professor at the University of L'Aquila and creator of the video game “Superflat Mathematics” as well as founder of the spin-off “Stemblocks”, an innovative startup with a social vocation. The video game, now used by a thousand teachers and their classes throughout Italy, has introduced children and teenagers to mathematics in a fun and stimulating way. It is a sandbox-type game with mathematical challenges on curricular topics integrated with a teaching methodology specifically designed to stimulate reflections on this subject often little loved by many students.
Leonardo Guidoni conducted, together with research groups in Mathematics Education, experiments on the use of video games from primary school up to the two-year period of secondary school. 
As a university professor he is an expert in high-performance scientific computing and has managed numerous Italian and European projects in the field of molecular modeling and quantum computing.
