A Journey into the Valley of No Return
Between myth, ancestral magic, and legendary battles, illustrator Emiliano Tanzillo, together with screenwriter, philologist, and popularizer Emanuele Arioli (with a video contribution), meets the public to tell the continuation of the Arthurian saga The Knight of the Dragon.
Here, among enchanted forests and spells that test the human soul, emerges the figure of a new knight, until now hidden in the folds of legend. Arioli came across a medieval manuscript in French — manuscript no. 5229 preserved in the Bibliothèque de l’Arsenal in Paris — which recounted the deeds of the knight Segurano, unknown to the general public, and from that discovery he began a patient philological research lasting over a decade, rediscovering another 28 manuscripts scattered across Europe that handed down his legend. His entry into the Arthurian epic opens new narrative perspectives, intertwining philological research, literary invention, and the evocative power of images.
Guiding the meeting will be Alessio Danesi (Saldapress), who will lead the audience through questions, curiosities, and reflections on how myth and literature continue to regenerate, giving life to stories still capable of speaking to the collective imagination today.
