Enrico Faccini is a comic book author and artist, one of the most appreciated interpreters of the Italian Disney world. Born in Santa Margherita Ligure on March 2, 1962, he has lived in Genoa for almost fifty years. After classical studies and several years at university, he chose to devote himself to comics, cultivating a passion for drawing that had been born since childhood and was also fostered by a family environment sensitive to art.
A great reader of the stories published in “Topolino” since the 1960s, he grew up admiring authors such as Romano Scarpa, Giorgio Cavazzano, Giovan Battista Carpi, Guido Martina and Rodolfo Cimino. He entered the professional world through a training program under the guidance of important masters of Disney comics, including Carlo Chendi, Giovan Battista Carpi, and Romano Scarpa. Thanks also to the editorial support of figures such as Massimo Marconi and Ezio Sisto, over time he developed a profile as a complete author, signing both the texts and the drawings of his own stories.
His graphic style is set in the most classic tradition of Disney comics, while on a narrative level he stands out for his ability to capture the surreal, ironic and paradoxical aspects of situations, giving life to stories rich in humor and rhythm.
Over the course of his career he has created numerous stories for “Topolino” and for the Italian Disney publishing scene. In 2005 he received the Golden Mickey Mouse Award for best screenwriter of the year for the story “Donald Duck and the Squashing Weight Loss Program”, published in “Topolino n. 2540” on August 3, 2004.
Alongside his professional awards, Faccini considers the greatest prize the affection and appreciation of the readers who have followed his stories for years.
