Daniele Serra Special Guest Romics

The Italian illustrator, three times winner of the British Fantasy Award as "Best Artist" (2012, 2017 and 2021) and finalist at the World Fantasy Award 2021, will be Special Guest at the XXXII edition of Romics. Daniele Serra has made covers, interior illustrations and comic book adaptations for the likes of Stephen King, Clive Barker, Ramsey Campbell, Joe R. Lansdale and Joyce Carol Oates.  It is inspired by Weird and horror fiction by authors such as H. P. Lovecraft and William H. Hodgson, Ridley Scott’s films, Japanese horror films and the works of Clive Barker. His passion for horror imagery has manifested itself since the beginning of his career, culminating in a distinctive style characterized by the play of contrasts between bright colors and dark shades, curved strokes, shadows and cupid rarefied atmospheres, mainly made with watercolor, ink and charcoal.

As a comic artist, he has collaborated with major publishers such as DC Comics, Image Comics, BOOM! Studios, Titan Comics, Seraphim INC. , SST Publications, Mondadori and Bonelli, contributing to works such as "Pray for Deaths," "Fade to Black," and "Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Bestiary." His artbook, introduced by Clive Barker and published by PS Publishing, attests to his artistic ability, while more than 300 illustrated book covers for international publishers demonstrate its impact in the industry. He created the entire artwork for Stephen King’s "Tommyknockers" trilogy, published by PS Publishing, and collaborated with prominent authors such as Clive Barker, J.R. Lansdale, Paul Tremblay and others. His works have been used in film adaptations such as "Cell" by Stephen King and "Rageaholic" by Yoshiki Takahashi.

Daniele Serra will be the protagonist of some special events at Romics. All the details will be soon.
