Destiny Plots: The Myth Between East and West in Fantasy

Fantasy has never been more relevant. In an era undergoing great transformations, myth returns to speak with renewed force: it tells the story of destiny, questions freedom, and stages archetypes that span cultures and centuries.  With Cecilia Randall, author of the sagas Hyperversum e Kitsune e di opere come Gens Arcana e Arhos, the journey unfolds between epic, identity and myths. Next to her, Paolo Barbieri, illustrator of works such as Favole degli Dei, L’Inferno di Dante e L’Odissea, it will tell how the mythological imaginary takes shape through art, building symbolic bridges between different cultures. The dialogue is completed by Sabrina Gabrielli, who will present her new graphic novel, I Doni di Ananke, to Romics. This work is rooted in the plots of destiny, poised between fantasy and drama, between oracles and visions. A comparison of word and image to investigate the perennial force of myth, the tension between fate and choice, and how East and West continue to meet - and reinvent - in today's fantasy fiction. Sabrina Perucca, Artistic Director of Romics, hosts the meeting.
