Bruno Bozzetto made his first short film, "Tapum la storia delle armi", when he was only twenty years old. In the sixties he created Signor Rossi, a middle-aged common man in whom many spectators are reflected. With him he has made a series of short films and three feature films for television and cinema. In 1965, after more than twenty years of silence in Italy, he was the first to make and produce a full-length animated film "West and Soda", followed in 1968 by "Vip mio fratello superuomo" and in 1976 by "Allegro non troppo", the Italian response to the famous "Fantasia" of Walt Disney. In 1987 he directed a full-length film "Sotto il ristorante cinese", with Amanda Sandrelli, Bernard Blier, Nancy Brilly and Claudio Botosso. Bozzetto has also worked a lot in the field of scientific popularization, creating, with the famous journalist Piero Angela, more than 100 popular science films for the transmission "Quark". He has also made and produced about thirty animated short films, distributed all over the world, for which he has received many awards and awards, including four Silver Ribbons, five Lifetime Achievement Awards, the Golden Bear at the Berlin Festival, and an Oscar nomination. At the same time he conceived and directed about ten television series for RAI and Swiss Television. He has participated in numerous international juries in festivals all over the world and there are more than ten dissertations based on his activity. In 2007 he was awarded the Honorary Degree in "Theory, Techniques and Management of Arts and Entertainment" by the University of Bergamo and the following year he received from the hands of the illustrious President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano the De Sica Prize as a lifetime achievement award. Since 2000 he has dedicated himself to animation with 2D computers, and with this technique he has created "Europe & Italy" a short film for the Web that has been very successful on a viral level. In 2014 a new exhibition of the author’s original works travels overseas and arrives at the Walt Disney Family Museum in S. Francisco. Today, Bozzetto and the new production studio Bozzetto&Co. continue to operate in the information, advertising and television sectors. Among the television series directed and produced by Studio Bozzetto&Co. "Psicovip", co-produced by RAI Fiction and Maga Animation, "Bruno the Great" commissioned by Disney Channel, and the most recent Topo Tip produced with the collaboration of RAI Fiction, Giunti, Studio Campedelli and M4e. To date, the production of independent short films, in the wake of Europe&Italy, embraces various topics. Among the most famous titles : "Tony&Maria", "To bit or not to bit", "Yes&No", "World History for those in a hurry", "Adam", "Olympics", "Life", "Neuro", "Otto in 17", "Sex and Fun", "Meritocracy", "Vintage or Cool?" and finally "Rapsodeus" defined a sort of sequel to "Allegro non Troppo", conceived and directed by Bruno Bozzetto and realized by Alienatio Studio. In parallel, Bruno Bozzetto has created humorous cartoons for Linus magazine and various publications. Since 1993 he has worked weekly at Corriere della Sera.
