Posing issues: the role of the living model

In the history of art and comics, the focus is often exclusively on the artist and the audience, while the figure of the living model remains in the shadows. However, the figure of the living model, often seen as secondary, is actually central to the artistic process. His work requires not only physical endurance and psychological preparation, but also a form of silent acting, which involves maintaining poses for long periods. Through her body and presence, the model contributes to the inspiration of the artist giving life to true works where life and art merge.

We deepen the theme with Turris Eburnea, the stage name of Mariangela Imbrenda, living model and photographer. Turris Eburnea will be in dialogue with some of the artists with whom she has worked for years, to highlight the various aspects that characterize the collaboration between model and artist. The artist Riccardo Mannelli and illustrator and cartoonist Mauro de Luca will speak. The debate will be followed by a drawing session of the real.
