Mickey Mouse in dialect. Discovering the history of Romanesque!

Mickey is the protagonist of an unprecedented adventure this year. On the occasion of the National Day of Dialect and Local Languages, the weekly embarked on an extraordinary journey through the linguistic richness of our peninsula!

After the great success of the 3608 issue in January, with an original story in four dialects, the project continues with a new adventure! On 2 April with the release of issue 3619, which will contain the story Mickey Mouse and the bridge over the ocean the story will be published again in four dialectal versions, including Romanesco, paying tribute to the city of Rome and its unique cultural tradition.

And what better occasion to celebrate the Romanesque dialect than at Romics? With a special event dedicated to the valorization of the language of the Capital, we will take the public to discover the charm and musicality of Romanesco, a language that is an integral part of the identity of the Eternal City.

In addition to the protagonists of the project including the designer Marco Gervasio, screenwriter Alessandro Sisti and editorial coordinator of Topolino Francesca Pavone and Daniele Baglioni, Professor of Italian Dialectology and History of the Italian language at the University Ca' Foscari Venice curator of translation in Romanesco, will intervene special guests, including Lillo Bruccoleri from the Centro Romanesco Trilussa, which, through its promotion and dissemination activities, keeps alive the tradition of Romanesque dialect and culture.

The meeting will be coordinated by Antonio Ranalli, RAI journalist, who will guide the audience on a fascinating journey between comics and local language.

An unmissable opportunity to discover the value of dialect not only as a form of popular expression, but as an integral part of the history and identity of a territory. And to make the event even more special, the dialect copies of the comic, usually distributed only in newsstands in the regional area of responsibility, will be exceptionally available also to Romics!

Do not miss this unique meeting, in which Mickey will speak... strictly in Romanesco!
