Marcos Martín Golden Romics of the 30 edition

From Batman and Dr. Strange to The walking dead: the stranger. All the graphic interpretations of the great Catalan designer.
Marcos Martín, Catalan cartoonist and cover artist, will be awarded the Romics d'Oro during the XXX edition of Romics scheduled from March 30 to April 2, 2023 at Fiera Roma.

Passionate about comics as a child, he began to explore this world by reading the Spanish translations of Disney comics and the Fantastic Four by Kirby / Lee, Asterix, Tintin and Mafalda. As a teenager he continues to love comics and dreams of making it his profession, initially imagining himself as a writer and then discover himself a pencil artist. He made his first two-issue comic at the age of 17 when he was still in his senior year in New York State. After studying abroad, he returned to Spain and graduated in painting at the University of Fine Arts in Barcelona before returning to New York and working at Marvel and DC. He then received his first assignment for a short story in The Batman Chronicles that marked the beginning of his career.
Martín developed his career between Spain and New York, collaborating with great fellow artists such as Javier Pulido, Javier Rodríguez and screenwriters such as David Muñoz.
Marcos Martín has worked for many American publishers including Marvel Comics and DC Comics and has produced series such as Batgirl: YearOne, Breach, Dr. Strange: The Oath, Amazing Spider-Man and Daredevil.

In 2013 he founded the online platform Panel Syndicate together with writer Brian K. Vaughan and cartoonist and colorist Muntsa Vicente to distribute their comic The private eye. The series won an Eisner Award for Best Digital/Web Comic and a Harvey Award for Best Online Comic Book. The web series received critical acclaim and media attention for being one of the first DRM-free pay-as-you-want comics, and Panel Syndicate continued to publish other works by the same creative team, such as Barrier and The walking dead: the foreigner, in addition to having published the works of other cartoonists such as Jay Faerber, Ken Niimura, Alex de Campi, David López and Albert Monteys.
In the catalog published by saldapress are present both the Friday series and the special The walking dead: the stranger.

Marcos Martín will be the protagonist in Romics of a meeting with the public and some of his works will be exhibited in a dedicated exhibition.
The presence of Marcos Martín in Romics is made possible by the collaboration with the publishing house Saldapress.
