Il Team Italy Join the World Cosplay Summit 2024!

On the occasion of the World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya 2024, Fabiano Valentino and Samuele Campobassi will represent Italy at the world cosplay competition.
WCS was founded in 2003 in Nagoya and offers a wide range of activities, including events in theme parks, photoshooting, parades and the long-awaited final of the cosplay world championship. 

Already representatives of Italy in 2019 and 2021, the two cosplayers took second place in the 2021 special edition with the formula Video Champions Division. With their performance on the stage of Romics in October 2023, playing Sekiro and Genichiro Ashina taken from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, they again won the pass to the World Cosplay Summit! Fabiano, aka Diaboliko Cosplay and Samuele, aka Nero Cosplay, with their experience in cosplay, will fight with dedication and enthusiasm to bring, once again, the value of Italian cosplay in Japan; their adventure in Nagoya will begin next July 30.

We asked the two cosplayers what the World Cosplay Summit represents for them and they told us in a few lines:
Samuele: The World Cosplay Summit for me represents many things, but first of all it is the dream I had since I started cosplay in 2008. Dreaming of participating in the "WCS" as an Italian representative was the spark that led me to embark on a competitive path in the Cosplay field, which stimulated me to improve more and more and that never made me give up, even in difficult times, even those related to my private life. Also, I think Japan is a magical place, so there is no better place to have such an experience. Another aspect that is very close to my heart is that of the friendship and sharing that takes place during the "WCS". It creates bonds, friendships with people on the other side of the world that can last over time and that contribute to a cultural exchange that enriches you as a person, and this for me has enormous value.

Fabiano: For me wcs represents the realization of a dream, it may seem like a simple phrase, but that’s exactly what it is. The chance to go to Japan, a place that I wanted to visit since I was a child, and to see all those wonders that as a child I could only imagine! All these emotions are the perfect frame for the most beautiful event that a cosplayer can live, the World Cosplay Summit, an opportunity to get to know and confront all the strongest cosplayers in the world.
