Andrea Freccero
At the age of six he "drew" his first Disney cover on the beach of Bonassola ( Liguria ), copying a Robin Hood from one of his favorite artists ever, Don Bluth. It was a game, Andrea could not imagine that many years later his covers would go around the world.
After graduating from art school at the age of 19, he came into contact with one of the greats of the Disney comics made in Italy, G.B. Carpi, with whom, after a long journey of learning, he began to collaborate. It was the end of the 80s, Andrea began his long journey Disneyland, dealing with comics, illustrations and covers.
In the following years the collaboration with the leading weekly magazine ( Topolino ) is constant,
Freccero is considered the dad " graphic designer" of one of the most successful series of recent years, Doubleduck", for which he created the main characters, collaborating in
structure its stylistic essence. More recently, he began a series of parodies of the series "Star Trek" written by Bruno Enna, entitled Star Top.
Today Andrea is considered one of the most relevant talents of his generation, he is entrusted with one of the most important covers in the history of Topolino, the n° 3000. This is a very special job and one that has a huge critical and sales success.
Also worth mentioning is the celebratory variant "4 ante" n.3023, a cover that seals the entry of Panini Comics into the Disneyan universe made in Italy and which is presented in Lucca 2013.
For about ten years he has been the official designer of the covers of the "LustigesTaschenbuch", an important Disney series published by the Northern European publisher EgmontEhapa, for which he also produces comic stories and illustrations of various kinds.
Freccero ’s work is particularly popular throughout Northern Europe, where he is often called upon to create advertising images, for gadgets, or important celebratory illustrations.
Giunti also relies on Freccero for some very successful series,
"The Most Beautiful Disney Stories" and " The Masterpieces of Disney Literature", while the publisher IDW entrusts him with covers on which his inspiration proves particularly lively .
Over the years there have been many different work experiences, Andrea often works for Ferrero, as a creative for marketing, Philips, Rovio ( Angry Birds ) , Glénat, Sanoma, Arnoldo Mondadori, RCS, Unique Heritage Presse.
Over the past five years, Andrea has served as artistic supervisor for all of Panini Comics' Disney necklaces, a role he plays with great passion and enthusiasm.
