Nuova Fiera di Roma

 

 

ROMICS is a great international event on comics, animated films and video games, organized by Fiera di Roma and I Castelli Animati- International Animated Film Festival.

The 2011 edition, held at the New Rome Fair (Nuova Fiera di Roma) had a record number of more than 100,000 visitors in 4 days. The event is very successful and it offers, also, several commercial pavillions with dozens of booths for publishers, comics-bookshops, collectors, where you can find everything you need about comics! Plus the Pala BCC, a big space for special events like concerts, live shows and film shows, with about 3000 seats!

WELCOME TO ROMICS!

Dearest friends, welcome back to Romics! After the phenomenal success of the last edition, which counted more than 100.000 visitors, we are excited to return, as promised, to bring you 4 awesome days dedicated to the comic-books and the film, TV series and games they inspire. There will be great international authors of comics who will tell the story of their extraordinary carriers and show some of their works. Plus several guests, meetings, film shows, the Cosplay contest and a lot of fun! You can’t miss it! You’re officially invited to our big party! Come along and be part of the excitement  at Romics!   

 

THE GOLDEN ROMICS.

Great international comic masters attend every year to the Romics Festival and receive the Golden Romics Prize. Among the most famous guests who participated to Romics there are: Albert Uderzo, the father of Asterix; Milo Manara, one of the most important Italian artists; Monkey Punch, the creator of the cult comic Lupin III. And also Yoichi Takahashi, Eddie Campbell, Carlos Gomez, Francisco Solano Lopez, Robin Wood. Also attended to this extraordinary kermesse Giorgio Cavazzano, a Disney’s prestigious artist; Angelo Stano, one of the most important illustrators of the cult comic Dylan Dog. Tanino Liberatore, an Italian artist with an international fame; Syd Mead, master of visual effects who worked with Ridley Scott to create the universe of Blade Runner. Regis Loisel, a French great author of comics; Gallieno Ferri, the father of Zagor; Massimo Mattioli, creator of Pinky. Also attended to the festival the great Riyoko Ikeda, author of one most loved Japanese cartoon, Versailles no bara and Claudio Villa, the great illustrator of Tex; Chris Ware, author of Jimmy Corrigan and many, many others.

 

THE GREAT EVENTS

Every year there are some must-see events dedicated to the greatest comics masters, the TV series and movies inspired by comics and last but not least, the colourful world of the Cosplay competition. Guests and events will be announced in a series of waves over the next few months so keep checking back for updates or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

 

COMICS FACTORY – MEETINGS AND CONVENTIONS WITH THE AUTHORS.

Romics is the appointment for public and operators in the sector to keep updated about Italian and international comics. So, there will be conferences, conventions and meetings with the authors about comics, animation, new media and multimedia, videogames and interaction with sci-fi.

 

COSPLAY ROMICS AWARD

The most awaited Cosplay Contest of the year in Italy, during which the most enthusiastic Cosplay’s fans are dressed up like their favourite characters. This annual event attracts thousands of young people from all over the Country. The winners (selected in collaboration with the Japanese Aichi Television) will be the official Italian contestants during the World Cosplay Summit, which takes place in Nagoya, Japan, and which is the biggest world Cosplay contest. In the previous editions of the WCS the Italian contestants have always achieved a great success, winning the WCS Prize twice and being often placed among the firsts. The jury will also select the Italian contestant for the Eurocosplay in London, organized by the MCM.

 

ENTERTAINMENT AREA

Every year we renew the usual appointment with games and fun for everybody! From videogames to role-playing games, from tournament to medieval battles, you’ll find everything you need to spend some quality time having fun! Without forgetting the extraordinary championship of the World Cyber Games! The WCG is the most important international event dedicated to videogames, which involves the best players from all over the world! A tournament with more than 1.500.000 players, who participate to national contests in 77 different nations.

 

CASTELLI ANIMATI/TUTTODIGITALE CONCOURSE

The concourse Castelli Animati/Tuttodigitale is dedicated to the animated home-videos only and it offers a great deal of new titles. Among them the winner will be chosen by a jury composed by experts of animated films and comics. Besides, there will be special shows of the movies in concourse and the winner one.

VENUE

Romics is situated in Nuova Fiera di Roma, the new and functional trade show area, on the Via Portuense, connected by train to the city centre and the main stations, and only few minutes from the “Leonardo Da Vinci” Airport.

 

HOW TO GET TO ROMICS

By train: FR1 train, every 15 minutes, stop in “Nuova Fiera di Roma”. The stop is few minutes walking from the north entrance of Nuova Fiera di Roma. Tickets cost € 1 from the urban stations of: Nuovo Salario, Nomentana, Tiburtina (M), Tuscolana (M), Ostiense  (M), Trastevere,Villa Bonelli, Magliana, Muratela.

By car: from the GRA (Grande raccordo Anulare) and the city centre, you have to take the Roma-Fiumicino highway, exit “Fiera di Roma”.

From the Airport: shuttle bus Società Cotral. It departs from the area in between national and international arrivals.
